Calling All Heroes!
Sign Up Now!
At Wake Forest UMC, one way we reflect the love of Christ to our neighbors is by helping children in public schools! Our partner school, Wake Forest iSTEM Magnet Elementary School (WFiSMES) has a wonderful volunteer opportunity available this school year! They are seeking volunteers to come into the school to read to students in a new program called Heroes Read. The time commitment is 30-60 minutes each week. This is a great opportunity for us to get out in our community and reflect God's love. If you are interested, please fill out this volunteer interest form:

Brunswick Stew and Bazaar
November 3rd and 4th
Our annual Bazaar will be held on November 4th from 8:30a.m. – 2:30p.m. We will have a craft sale, bakery/casserole sale, pancake breakfast, brunswick stew sale and a Random Acts of Kindness (RAKs) area where families can come get a bag of ideas to perform RAKs in our community.
On November 3rd we will also have our Brunswick Stew Lunch from 11a.m. – 2p.m. in the FLC. Stew will be available to purchase by the quart starting at 11a.m.
How can you get involved?
If you are a crafter – we can use any and all handmade items to sell! Contact Sue Allen (filburt95@hotmail.com) for more information.
If you are a baker or a cook – we can use all types of baked/cooked items such as cookies, cakes, jams and candies for the Bakery Area! Contact Myrna Leggett (mhlal@bellsouth.net) for more information. The bakery area is in need of folks to make casseroles. They are also looking for an upright freezer if anyone has one to loan the bakery area for the weekend to store the casseroles.
If you have plants or outdoor items that you would like to donate to the Cracked Pots area contact Cheryl Heller (gourdee3@gmail.com).
Can’t craft or cook – contact Sue Allen – we will be glad to take cash/check donations to help with craft supplies or gift cards to Walmart/Sam’s Club for baking supplies as well.
We will be posting a Sign-Up Genius closer to the Bazaar weekend for everyone to sign up to help in stew preparation, help check people out and general volunteers for set up, running the event and tear down.
All proceeds this year will be going towards the new stove in the FLC, The Community Table here in Wake Forest and Parent Project MD (in memory of Andrew Littleton). We will also be doing our annual college freshman care packages as part of this wonderful event!
We look forward to a FANTASTIC Bazaar this year and can help everyone find a place to participate. Crafters are currently meeting on Tuesday mornings from 10a.m.-12p.m. in the FLC. Bring a craft and come join us or just come and we will find something you can help with! If you have any general questions please contact Kim Przybyl (KTPrzy@gmail.com).
